With over 50 lawsuits pending in the United States examining how copyright law applies to artificial intelligence, the legal framework in this area is actively evolving. In this workshop, participants will explore what is happening in these cases, consider how the law may develop, and discuss what these changes may mean for both the advancement of new AI technologies and for creative works in a future where artificial intelligence is widely incorporated into the tools people use to produce and distribute their work. Speaker: Stephen M. Wolfson, Assistant General Counsel and Copyright Advisor, Penn Libraries.
